Terms of service

These terms apply when you order from La Sura Bakery through this website. Please read them before you order. Our refund policy and shipping policy form part of these terms.

1. Who we are

La Sura Bakery is a family bakery in Brockley, South-East London. It is the trading name of Kristina Bariloviciene, a sole trader.

We're not registered for VAT.

2. Who can order

You must be 18 or over to place an order. These terms are for customers buying for themselves or as a gift. If you have a trade account with us, your account terms apply instead.

3. Your order

When you place an order, you're asking to buy from us. The contract between us starts when we email you to confirm your order. If we can't take your order, for example because a date is fully booked, we'll tell you and refund anything you've paid.

Please check your order before you pay, including your collection or delivery date and any personalisation, such as names or messages on a cake.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling. Because we're not VAT registered, no VAT is added. Any delivery or postage cost is shown at checkout before you pay.

We take payment when you order. For bespoke and wedding cakes, you pay a deposit to book, and the balance is due 7 days before your collection or delivery date. Our refund policy explains what happens if you cancel.

If a price on our website is clearly wrong, we'll contact you before we bake anything, and you can choose to go ahead at the right price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Our cakes

Everything is baked to order and finished by hand, so your cake may differ slightly from the photos on our website. For bespoke cakes, we agree the design with you before we bake, and the finished cake is our interpretation of that design.

6. Allergies

Allergen information for each product is on its product page, so you can check it before you order, and it comes with your order. If you or anyone eating your order has an allergy, please read the allergen information before ordering, and contact us if you have any questions. If you're buying for someone else, please pass the allergen information on to them.

7. Collection, delivery and postage

Our shipping policy explains collection, local delivery and postage, including where we deliver and which products can be posted.

If you can't collect on your chosen day, please tell us as soon as you can. If an order isn't collected by the end of your collection day, we can't refund it, because it's fresh food made for you.

8. Cancellations, refunds and problems

Our refund policy explains how to cancel, what we refund, and what to do if something is wrong with your order. Because our food is made to order and goes off quickly, the 14-day cancellation period for online orders doesn't apply to it.

9. The treat box subscription

If you subscribe to our treat box, you can skip, pause or cancel at any time from your account. Cancel before your next billing date and you won't be charged again.

10. Our responsibility to you

If we don't keep to these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result of that. We're not responsible for loss that nobody could have foreseen, or for business losses, such as lost profit.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. None of this affects your statutory rights.

11. Events outside our control

If something outside our control stops us from making or getting your order to you, such as severe weather or a power cut, we'll tell you as soon as we can and offer you a new date or a full refund.

Our privacy policy explains how we use your personal information.

13. Our website and Shopify

Our website runs on Shopify.

lasura-bakery is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with lasura-bakery. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and lasura-bakery, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with lasura-bakery.

The words, photos and designs on this website belong to La Sura Bakery. Please don't copy them without asking us first.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on our website when you placed it.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
